Case Study – NJ Rivet in Camden
Believe it or not rivets are still made in the US. To say that every penny of overhead counts when some of your product is 4 for a penny is an understatement.
In 1997, Steve Van Name’s father had Duro-Last installed on one of his five roofs at NJ Rivet in Camden. He didn’t expect a roof with a 15 YR warranty to be waterproof for 26 YR but that’s exactly what happened.
In 2016 when that roof was almost 20 YR old, Manchester Roofing Systems removed a few cut nails that had backed out and welded some new Duro-Last PVC over those spots. No caulk, no glue, no tape and good to go for another 7 YR.
“I was in high school when dad had our 1st Duro-Last roof put on but when Manchester put Duro-Last on roofs 3 & 4 I took the lead. We had tried to get by with patching the worst area, but $6,000 and only 6 months later it was time for Duro-Last. Manchester Roofing had the best price and they did a great job both on the install and dealing with a tough stretch of weather relative to the challenges of a poorly drained flat roof.” Steve said.
“Manchester came out this spring to look at the 1997 roof to see if we could get by with a few more patches but it was time. They again had the best price and even lowered a bunch of screws on the 2016 roof at no additional charge in an area that always has ponding water and had settled a bit. They said they had to dewater that area anyway to work on the new roof and it just made sense regardless of the extra time.”
“I jokingly told Manchester Roofing Systems I hope I don’t see them again soon since new roofs aren’t cheap but when our next roof does need to be replaced it’s good to know who to call.”
